General
Volunteers enter the school through the Administration door on Wellington Crescent and will be required to sign in at the reception area. The Corner Store is located in the cafeteria. Access is through the Uniform Shop in the main floor hallway. The Store is open Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 12:35 to 1:35 pm, when classes are in session. Volunteers should arrive 15 minutes prior to opening to allow for set up.

Schedule:
Three volunteers are required for each time slot. This is an excellent opportunity to meet other parents in the SMA community. If you are unable to attend, please call Marcia at 489-1118. Click here for the current Corner Store schedule.

Opening:
The first person named on the schedule each day is responsible for picking up the cash box from the Controller`s Office in Room 229 (top of the stairs through the Administration Entrance). If she is not available, the accountant across the hall will have access to the cash box. If both are unavailable, please see the school office secretary.
Inside the cash box is a wooden key holder which opens the door to the Uniform Shop. The same key opens the wooden curtain above the counter. Included in the cash box is a $10 candy float, a $40 general float and keys for the cupboards and drawers (labelled).

Clothing Sales:
Prices are posted in the store (taxes included). Cash or cheques are accepted only; change should be made using the $40 general float. Cheques should be made out to the SMA Parents Guild – no IOUs and holds please.
Please record all items sold in the receipt book for inventory information. For example:
1-Small Red Sweatpant $47.00
1-Large Navy Front Zip Sweatshirt $57.00
1-Small Grey SMA Chenille Sweatshirt $62.00

The Corner Store also sells used uniforms. Donations are gladly accepted, however, we are unable to sell uniforms on consignment. Prices are posted on the bulletin board.

Closing:
Remove $10 cash float from the candy sales and record on sheets available in the store. Also record clothing and alumni sales on lines as indicated. Return all candy and clothing to their respective cupboards and ensure all cupboards are locked before leaving. Cash box is to be returned to the Controller or Accountant.
