13th Annual Marian Awards for Excellence Brunch
Saturday, May 13, 2017

 2017 Recipients

The Class of 1965, School and Commercial, epitomizes what it means to Hold High The Torch for their generous and continued service and engagement to the St. Mary’s Academy community. Under the tutelage of Principal Sr. Judith Anne, the class of 1965 studied with SMA legends such as Sr. Geraldine MacNamara, SNJM and Sr. Eva Claire, SNJM. The bonds which were formed through Grades 1 to 12, within the walls of SMA have stayed strong and the charism which was instilled has helped the class show deep commitment to their community and their fellow graduates.

In 2005, at their 40th reunion, the class decided to give back to the SMA community by establishing the Class of 1965 Bursary Fund. To date they have raised $49,900. The kindness which was shown to them many years ago by the Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary is now being shared with current students who benefit from the Class of 1965 Bursary.

About the Marian Awards For Excellence

At St. Mary's Academy, we take pride in our alumnae and friends who model excellence and service in their personal and professional lives. The Marian Awards For Excellence were instituted by the Academy in 2005 to recognize a variety of outstanding achievements by alumnae and friends of the school. Honorees distinguish themselves and the Academy by continuing to Hold High the Torch.
