Students in grades 7 and 8 take a full complement of compulsory courses. There are no options and no unassigned time in the schedule.

Mid-year formative assessment worth 10% of final grade is done in January in English, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies. Final summative exams, written by all students in June, are worth 15% of final grade. A major project replaces the June exam in Social Studies.
