The mission of St. Mary's Academy is to educate young women within a Catholic faith community. A Catholic school in the tradition of the Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary, St. Mary's Academy promotes the dignity of each person and challenges each member of the school community to act justly.

In carrying out its mission, the Academy is guided by the following principles:

Formation of the Whole Person: Providing learning opportunities which foster the full development of each student;

Intellectual Growth: Offering an intellectually challenging program of studies which fosters a love of learning and which prepares students for post-secondary education;

Religious Development: Providing a religious education program which includes required courses, liturgical celebrations and varied religious experiences;

Faith Integration: Ensuring that Christian values permeate the entire curriculum and all activities of the school community;

Leadership Development: Providing an environment and opportunities which encourage young women to develop and exercise leadership skills;

Social Responsibility: Educating to a social awareness which leads to action, with emphasis on service to the poor and disadvantaged;

Program Recognition: Developing courses based on curriculum guidelines approved by Manitoba Education and Training and employing certified, qualified teachers

Financial Accessibility:Providing monetary aid to qualifying students through the bursary program;

Cooperation With Parents: Encouraging close, active cooperation with parents who are the primary educators of their children;

Collaboration With the Church: Fostering loyalty and cooperation with the diocese and integration of the school into the local church.
